One Off Workshops

Rebekah is currently available to book for the following workshops-

The Shadow Puppet Workshop-

An exciting exploration of science, art and citizenship that’s perfect for an Enrichment Afternoon, arts lesson or after school club.

In this workshop, the children will learn about the Eastern origins of shadow puppetry and see a shadow puppet show performed live before working as a group to create their very own show to be performed at the end of the session. They will learn about the different materials and techniques used to create this unique art form and develop imaginative ways of applying form to content, exploring the use of light and dark and the creation of shadows. Through the themes of the workshop, they will be encouraged to develop a better understanding of the wider world and their place within it whilst cooperating as a group to make decisions and devise a performance.

An Introduction to Puppetry and Manipulation-

During this workshop, participants will learn the fundamental principles of puppetry through a participatory session, see a live puppetry performance exploring hand manipulation and be given the opportunity to experiment with handmade puppets. To support the work done in the session, students will also be provided with a study pack outlining the skills learnt within the workshop and further reading on the subject.

This workshop provides the perfect complement to any further education performance course and will encourage students to broaden their performance skills.

An Introduction to Physical Theatre-

Focusing on emotional representation in the body, this workshop explores how imagination can engage with the body to deliver physical expression. Participants will be lead through various improvisational imagination and emotion-based exercises to find new ways of moving and exploring ideas physically.

To support the work done in the session, participants will also be provided with a study pack outlining the skills learnt within the workshop and further reading on the subject.

This workshop provides the perfect complement to any further education performance course and will encourage students to broaden their performance skills.

Feedback;

'Rebekah created some wonderful workshops for Northern Ballet’s Easter Course. All of the children were engaged throughout the variety of activities she delivered. Rebekah was professional, experienced and a genuine pleasure to work with, I hope that we can work with her again in the future.'
